Climbing Ants

Whether you are an ant trying to climb a flower or a person trying to conquer a challenge, you still feel small. Ants see the world in a whole different perspective. One blade of grass is equivalent to an entire forest to us. People feel small when the challenge they are facing seems too ominous to overcome. The famous story of David and Goliath from the Bible puts David in that same situation. Goliath is a challenge that no one else had the courage to face. 1 Samuel 17:45 says, “David said to the Philistine, ‘You come against me with sword and spear and javelin, but I come against you in the name of the Lord Almighty, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied.'” David, a small sheep herder, had the bravery to challenge this giant. We have to remember that whatever giants we are facing our lives, we can overcome with the help of God. He is there to support us and protect us.

This picture was hard to take. Without realizing it, I was standing in an anthill while taking it. My feet were decorated with ant bites; it looked like someone painted red polka-dots on my feet.

Sunny Spiderweb

Imagine a serene and peaceful patch of forest. There are no people around. The only thing you can hear is the rushing river and the calm song of the birds. It is early morning, feeling like you are the only person in the whole forest. The cold dew touches your hands and rough pine needles brush your face as you tromp through the woods. The sun touches your face and lights up the scene.

This picture captures a spider web in line with the sun. The sun shows the intricacy and complexity of this natural piece of art. I took this while on an annual camping trip with my family.
